Boy, this genealogy stuff can sure give one a headache, can't it?
I'm sorry I didn't press my father more. But, I do have in my possession three legal documents. A marriage license, his discharge papers and some sort of Certificato di Nascita ( all in Italian).His discharge papers say that he was born in Alcamo Sicily( I always thought it was Palermo). His mother's maiden name was Giovana DeBlasi. He and my mother were married in Brooklyn when she was 17 and he was 25. Also the Certificato that I mentioned has his name as Colletta. (A variation?).
