Burgio is in the provence of Agrigento in Sicily. My ancestors came from Villalba in the provence of Caltanissetta. The two places are probably over 100 miles apart so it's unlikely there is any connection between our families. I looked at the Church of Latter Day Saints web site and there are a lot films available for researching Burgio. You can go to www.familysearch.org and go to the FHC library catalog to look up available films. They date from 1821-1910 and have birth (nati), marriage (matrimoni) and death (morti) records available as well as some other misc. records. You can also run a search on this site to see where the nearest LDS Family History Center is to you. You can borrow films for the cost of shipping ($3.25 ea) and have free use of their film readers. They have volunteers there to help you order the correct films and show you how to use the resources there. I highly recommend buying an Italian genealogy helper from them for 50 cents which lists a lot of key words used in Italian documents. The civil records have a pretty standard format, so once you understand the gist of the document, it is simply a matter of looking for the names. There are also some document translations available on the web site I listed above, I believe you would find them under resources. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Unfortunately, my research is in a different area of Sicily so I would not have access to any of your ancestors' records.
