I also came across his name in the CNN sports history webpage. Information is sketchy but does say he played one season for the Boston Bean Eaters (forerunner of the Red Sox), died and was buried at Detroit, MI. I can't trace any of his lineage but assume that he also descended from the Ontario Collvers, just based on the spelling of the name. Would love to learn more about him.
