You were right.
I found Michael Culver and family living in Norfolk County, Townsend Township, Ontario in the 1851 Census. (I believe the census was not completed until 1852)
*Michael Culver age 61, b. New Jersey (occupation: Farmer)
*Leavina (Slaght) age 44 b. Canada
*John G. age 23 b. Canada (occupation: Doctor)
*Mark E. age 19 b. Canada
*Hugh A. age 17 b. Canada
*Darius age 15 b. Canada
*Miriam age 13 b. Canada
*Warren age 9 b. Canada
*Carlton age 7 b. Canada
*Catherine McIntyre age 15 b. Canada (living with family; marries Hugh Aaron Culver Oct 9, 1857, Paris, Ontario)
*Miriam (Culver)age 80 b. New Jersey (wife of John Culver; third pair in the Double Culver Quartette)
