Wasn't Coltrane's father's family from the High Point area?
I may be mistaken, but I thought they were.

I am sure there are other possiblities, but Daniel Coltrane and his descendants owned Coltrane Mill and there are records at Centre Friends about the freeing of those slaves by Daniel's descendants. They were the most affluent Coltranes in the area. If not Daniel, then his descendants are the most likely Coltranes in the High Point, NC area to have owned slaves.
