You might try looking under the name Colombe. There are a number of Colombe's in Quebec at that time and the family has many Jean's (John's) in it. Louis Colombe came to New France (Quebec) in the mid-1660's and settled on the Isle d'Orleans in the St. Lawrence at Quebec City. My ancestor, Isaac Colombe (also spelled Coulombe or Coullombe) took the name Columbus when he left Quebec for Toronto around 1800.
