Greetings! Even though my last name is not Colvard, there is Colvard blood running trhough my veins, a bit watered down over the generations but there all of the same.
My gggrandmother was a Colvard from out of NC and she married a Koontz in Ashe County. Her name was Cornelia Ann Colvard d/o of William Colvard and Sallie Reeves. She was b. 4/10/1849 and d. 5/13/1933.

The time period they often noted the place of birth for the person they reported on. Then you may want to try and find a death certificate, sometimes they noted the same info. But if you have been doing research, you may of already tried this path.

Then we hit the proverbial brick wall. The family moved from VA and settled in NC, around Wilkes Counyy which later split into Ashe County. There numerous offspring, as was common in those days (cheap labor you know) and they branched out from there. Again if this is the same family.
