Rites at Lueders
Stamford, March 13: Funeral for J. H. M. COMMONS, 84, retired farmer and landowner, will be Friday at the Lueders Baptist Church. The pastor, Rev. BUREN L. HIGDON, will officiate, assisted by Rev. MELVIN BYRD and Rev. ORAN SMITH. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery of Stamford, directed by Kinney Funeral Home. Mr. Commons died Wednesday at the Stamford Sanitarium. He was hospitalized Tuesday.
JOHN HENRY MORGAN COMMONS was born June 19, 1867 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. The family moved to Jones County in 1907. Mrs. Commons died March 13, 1951.
Survivors include five sons, WILLIE, MORRIS, and LAVONE COMMONS, all of Lueders, V. C. COMMONS of Whitarrel, Texas and E. C. COMMONS of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. W. B. COTTON of Andrews and MYRTLE COMMONS of Stamford; a brother, L. F. COMMONS; a sister, Mrs. W. N. VAUGHAN of Lueders; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Lueders Woman Dies in Stamford Hospital
Stamford, Aug. 12: Mrs. W. N. VAUGHAN, 77, of Lueders, died at the Stamford Sanitarium Monday. She had entered the hospital Sunday night. Her husband died March 30, 1952. Funeral has been set for Wednesday at the Methodist Church of Lueders. Rev. C. B. MELTON, pastor, will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery at Stamford, with Kinney Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. VAUGHAN and her later husband came to Jones County Jan. 1, 1919 from McKinney. She was EMMA LOUISE COMMONS before their marriage on Dec. 19, 1902. She was born march 2, 1875 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Survivors include four sons, E. B., F. C., and W. W. VAUGHAN of Lueders, and N. C. VAUGHAN of Albany; a daughter Mrs. D. S. KNOBLE of Levelland; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a brother L.F .COMMONS of Fort Worth.
