Gas Explosion Takes One Life
Muskogee, Dec. 22: AUDREY CONDREY, ten years old, is death as a result of an explosion of natural gas today, and her father, mother and three brothers and sisters are seriously injured. Mrs. CONDREY will probably die. CHARLES CONDREY lived in a three room house. He had just moved in. He got up this morning and turned on the gas. Plumbers or a former tenant had left an open gas pipe in another room. When he lit the stove, there was an explosion that blew the roof off the house and the front room out. The house caught fire. The Condreys were rescued, most of them unconscious. Mrs. LILLIAN HARRIS was badly burned in rescuing them. They were taken to hospitals where AUDREY CONDREY died and the mother is not expected to live. The injured are: Mrs. CHARLES CONDREY, CHARLES CONDREY, LIDDIE, DICK and HARRY CONDREY and Mrs. LILLIAN HARRIS.
