I am not sure whether or not we are of the same descendants since the spelling is different. The "Condie" family was originally from France then moved to Scotland to escape the Revolution. This was when the name was changed from "De Conde" to "Condie". My part of the family later moved to Canada. However, I can only trace my family back as far as my great-grandfather, Harold Condie, born around 1880 and not heard of since the 1910's when he abandoned his family to pursue his career as a musician. Coincidentally, my father's name is the same as yours, Robert Condie.
