Conley - Connelley - Coney - Cannelly - Connelly - Conly
I am looking for the family of Elisha - Elijah - Elicia (Conley - Connelley - Coney - Cannelly - Connelly - Conly). It seems that his name changed with each census or document. I am unable to find any information prior to 1880. I have not been able to find any siblings or parents for him. By census reports he had at least 3 wives. In 1880 he was married to Nancy unknown. In 1900 he is married to an 18 year old named Amelia Connelly. Between those 2 wives, he married Matilda Jane Leggate (Leggett). Jane was my great-grandmother. MATHILDA JANE LEGGETT DOB - 22 Dec 1881 in Saint Landry Parish, Louisiana, daughter of LLEWELLYN LEGGETT and SAMANTHA SIMMONS.She died 1897 in Beaver Creek, Louisiana.
Depending on which census you believe, Elisha was born either in 1855 or 1847. He may have had 2 son's named after him or they listed the same son with different dates of birth. He has Elijah/Elisha Lucien born in either 1877 or 1883 or they are 2 different sons.
The children are:
DORA2 CONLEY, b. 1874, Louisiana.
ELISHA LUCIEN CONLEY, b. 01 Oct 1883, Louisiana; d. 25 Feb 1963, Orange, Texas.
ELIJAH2 CONLEY, b. 1877, Louisiana.
IDA ISBELLE CONLEY, b. 01 Nov 1887, Louisiana; d. 20 Sep 1974, Louisiana.
WILLIAM CONLEY, b. 07 May 1891, Oakdale, Allen Parish, Louisiana; d. 09 May 1994, Glenmora, Louisiana.
ALLAN CONLEY, b. 1892, Louisiana; d. New Orleans, Louisiana; m. MAE CATON.
HENRY CLEVELAND CONLEY, b. 02 Feb 1896, Beaver Creek, Louisiana; d. 31 Jan 1937, Alexandria, Louisiana Rapids Parish. He is called Cleveland. MY GRANDFATHER.
GROVER CLEVELAND CONLEY, b. 28 Jun 1909, Louisiana; d. 05 May 1985, Fresno, California.
LITTLE M CONLEY, b. 1894, Louisiana. Unclear on who this is.
My parent’s told me that Henry’s siblings are, “Kate, Leggy, Lize, Edward Albert, Bill, Bud, Allen, Ida, Dora, tinny, Henry, half brother Grover.”
If this is familiar to anyone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
