Conerys of Louisiana
Posted by: John E. Conery, Jr. Date: May 17, 2001 at 06:20:04

Any information provided on the Conerys immigration to Louisiana would be greatly appreciated.

We have done a little research and the trail seems to end with my great grandfather Conery who died in a head-on train accident at the Ricohoc junction near Morgan City in Louisiana in about 1914. He was retirement age upon his death and we have no record of his birth. Mr grandfather and father are both from St. Martinville, La. and grandad died in October 1966 at about 65 years of age.

We believe the family came over from Ireland around the era of the famine, but we have no records of the first port of entry or any ancestors of my great-grandfather.

Thank you in advance for any help provided.
