I am researching two soldiers who enlisted in the 26th Arkansas Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. They are:

John Lane Conger B/K Pvt/1Lt
Enlisted 3 May 1862 at Monticello, Drew County, Arkansas. Elected 2nd Lieutenant of
Company K on 6 Sep 1862. Granted furlough 23-Apr-8 May 1863. Promoted to 1st Lieutenant
5 Dec 1863; age listed as 27. Resigned commission 14 Oct 1864, indicating intention to enlist in
Cooper's Company, 2nd (Slemons') Arkansas Cavalry Regiment. Born 21 Jul 1835 in Black
Hawk, Carroll County, Mississippi. Died 21 Sep 1893. Widow F. A. Conger filed Pension
Application (3562) 6 Aug 1903 from Cleveland County.

Ozias Denton Conger Co. H Pvt/Pvt
Enlisted 13 Jun 1862 in Johnson County, Arkansas. Present through Feb 1864. Age listed as
6 on 1850 Johnson County Census. Born in Tennessee.

I have no genealogical connection to these men but am writing a book on their regiment. Any help in learning their dates/places of birth, death, and burial location would be greatly appreciated.
