In my opinion, the notation (48-1850) means that she was listed as age 48 in the 1850 census.

Of course that isn't much use unless you know that she was living in Monroe Co., OH at the time of the 1850 census. Once you know this it would help a researcher to find and read the census record.

I own a paper copy of the 1850 census of Monroe Co., OH.
