Congers to Belcongers and other?

I'm new to this board and also to searching my family's geneology. The Conger line of my family is the longest but its also proving to be the most confusing, mainly because I'm finding (on the 'net) information that is often contradictory.

I am a descendant of Hannah Conger who married Arthur Brown Ross. Her history (or what I have found so far) is this:

Hannah Conger < John Conger (mrd. Zipporah Moores) < Jonathan Conger < John Conger (mrd. Mary Tuttle) < John Belconger (mrd. Mary Kelly) < John Belconger (mrd. Elizabeth) < William Belconger (mrd. Ann Ward) < William Belconger (mrd. Margaret)

I found a couple of people (websites) that extended that line 4 more generations: William Belconger (mrd. Jone) < Robert Belconger (mrd. Agness Cove) < Henry Belkunger < John Bellencombre...

Because I've found the extra names only twice, I'm assuming that most people don't recognize them as accurate. My Question - Is this assumption correct? I would appreciate any and all information available concerning this topic and also any infomation concerning my list of names as it stands now. Like I said, I'm new at this.
