Am seeking any information, particularly exact birth date, baptism, date and place of marriage, death, wife’s name, parents names, etc. about DENNIS CONROY born in Mountrath, Parish of Clonenagh, Laois (Queens County) in 1806 or early 1807. Attested for (enlisted in) the 44th Foot (East Essex Regiment) on 2/14/1825, at the age of nineteen, served until 11/30/1834 when he was discharged for disability (blindness) and awarded a pension which shortly after was revoked effective 12/31/35 on the assertion that his blindness was deliberately caused. Shown on the marriage certificate of Andrew Duffy and Mary Conroy on 1/29/1853 in Bradford, England as father of the bride with occupation ‘Pensioner, 44th Foot.’ Mary Conroy was 20 in 1853.

NOTES:
Andrew and Mary became the parents of John Duffy who in 1879 married Catherine Agnes Quigley, daughter of Moses and Elizabeth McDowell Quigley who are the parents of Andrew E. Duffy who in 1903 married Barbara Weigand who are my great grandparents
