Hello Mark: I'm impressed by the depth of your research. Will try to add a bit to it. I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800. Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%. Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database. Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome). For Tim(othy) Conroy B 1824 (exact) Abbeyknockmoy parish, Co. Galway with a father forenamed John, I found 1 rcd. For ???? Conroy B 1821-1824 ditto, I found 0 rcds for any forename. For Peter Conroy B ???? ditto, the only rcd I found was in 1871 - far too late for your timeline. For Peter Conroy M ????, Co. Galway, I found 0 potential rcds within a relevant range. M rcds for Abbeyknockmoy parish don't begin until 1844. For Mary Donaghue M ditto, ditto. It is likely the M rcds for Peter and Mary either weren't created, or didn't survive. The only way to resolve all your questions is too pay for the right to view ALL the detailed rcds - an expensive proposition even though the IFHF is non-profit. Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg. Hope this helps. Good luck.
