COOK/FOSTER ancestors in England, possibly KENT, 1800-1850
It's been a while so thought I should update my COOK / FOSTER ancestors:
George William COOK was born 23.3.1823 to parents William Cook and Charlotte FOSTER (could be in Kent but not sure) England. He is supposed to be the youngest male to the marriage.
George emigrated to NSW (not sure where or when) but in 1851 is recorded as marrying Ann FINUCANE (born Ireland) in Sydney.
After marriage they settled in the Inverell NSW area after marriage and then at Carcoar NSW.George was a miner, shoemaker and also did a NSW Government mail run for a couple of years in later life.Ann died on 28.10.1898.He death certificate states that she "was born at sea" and arrived in NSW late 1850, being 22 at emigration.
Children were:
1.Michael William ch'd at St James R/C Sydney on 7.7.1852
2.Charlotte Margaret ch'd. 5.10.1853
3.James Frederick b. 25.3.1885, ch'd30.3.1856 at Mudgee
4.Austin Charles b. 24.2.1857
5.George W b. 23.5.1859 at Mudgee
6.Emma Charlotte ch'd. 30.12.1860
7.John Edward (or Ernest) b. 22.10.1862
8.Henry b. 23.3.1864
9.Albert Henry b. 1865 reg'd Carcoar
10.Thomas Austinb. 23.3.1868
11.Alfred Samuel b. 24.12.1871 reg'd Carcoar.
George died on 21.7.1893, aged 70 years. He was living in the Crookwell/Tuena area at the time of his death.
These are my "Brickwall" ancestors - I can't find William and Charlotte COOK anywhere in England, let alone Kent.
Anyone who can offer any suggestions, I would love to hear from you
