Sandra,
Thanks again for the information. Yeah, I am pretty sure that it is Sarah Ellen with the maiden name being Marion, but I will have to get in touch with the cousin that supplied me with the information again, and yes Charles full name is James Charles Andis, by the way do you happen to have a copy of that WWI draft Registration I would like to have it for my records. My grandmother said that MW was a full-blooded Cherokee, and that is probably true, but to explain why it is listed as white and not Indian, I haven't a clue, except to say that I come from a very long line of very proud people, and taking handouts which is what signing up for a roll number would have been like for them, would have been a slap in the face, but of course that doesn't help me or anyone else needing medical help or help going to school, etc.! but that is not the only reasons why I am doing this, the main reason is that I want to know my family and where I come from. I will also have to contact Adele and see if she ever came up with who his parents were. Thanks again for the help!I am hoping that the family with the last name of Andrews is not them because then I would have another name to run down and eliminate it as a possibility as the original last name that my ancestors had. Thanks again for all your help. If you need help on anything I will be more than glad to help you out thanks again.
Sincerely,
Melissa Marksberry
P.S. I believe I have seen that census and that it is Sarha, which is still an error, and yeah now that you mention it I do realize that you can't really depend on the census records for much which is why you have to have other records to back up that information!
