Hello Sandy,
On the Shenandoah's ships manifest it appears that Alexander Cook's occupation is "Baker".At Ancestry.com there is a Naturalization Index for an Alexander Cook of Brooklyn, NY, from England, who lists his occupation as "Baker" in 1875.I assume they are one and the same but can't locate him in the 1870 or 1880 Census.
I can send you the Manifest & Index, if you would like.
I assume they are related to my SUSANNAH COOK who married Joseph Wallin in Leicester in Nov. 1833 and had the children Alexander Cook was with, John T, Richard, Thomas, Mary Ann and Susan WALLIN.They were also listed with MARGARET COOK and Richard Townsend an engraver and Birdie/Bridie McEllhenny.
John T. Wallin/g served in Civil War and went to Napa, CA, he married Hannah Carter.
Mary Ann Wallin/g married Horace John Christian and lived in Mentz, NY and Calhoun County, MI.
Unable to find Richard and Thomas or Susan Wallin. The boys went into the Military about 1858.
This is all I know.
Marilyn
