Peggy - Sorry for the long delay. If we are related it must be from much farther back than the 1930. My maternal grandmother and great grandmother were both Lucy Coonan. Grandmother was married to William Heenan of Norwegian Township. Great grandmother was a Norton married to John Coonan. No idea where John Coonan came from, but all of our Coonans settled in Gilberton Borough, Mahanoy Plane, at the foot of the old breakers below Frackville.

There are some Port Carbon Coonans, and at least one family still lives in Girardville area, but no idea where the lash up is, if any. Would be interested if you have any John Coonan connection, as this is where we lost them. He was a member of the Miner's Band at the turn of the century, and I believe there is still an image of him on the web as a bandsman (we have an original of that photo). Hope this helps. Cheers:
