I've just started researching family history but the name George appears to crop up in most Copeman families.
My branch of the family is from Hartlepool and i've spoken to another Copeman family from Hartlepool. I've also spoken to English Heritage and a man named Sidney Copeman invented the Smallpox Vaccine and lived in Chelsea.

Please let me know if you have any further information.
