Kim, I've checked out John Davey Copemen, and I don't think he is the one you want. He was born 1818, went to America in 1840 and again in 1841, to introduce Colman's Mustard, then was back in U.K. running his own wholesale provision business (groceries) in London. He married Elisabeth Acocke and died 1911.
