Re: Copemans who emigrated to Canada 1836,you said your 3xg. grandfather James was born in Norfolk 23 Dec. 1830 and emigrated to Canada 1836. You were sure he had siblings but did not know his parents' names. The John Copeman for whom I've requested information was 39, a labourer, and a widower when he emigrated from Sall, Norfolk to Quebec in 1836 under the poor law emigration scheme. His children were Maria 17, John 15, Preston 13, Mary Ann 11, William 8, James 6 (so b.c. 1830) and Alfred 4. When I go to NRO next time I will check Sall baps to see if he might have been born 23 December 1830 and so be the one you want.
