Hi there Tammy
I don't know if I can be of helpto you but I am also researching Copp's in Devon. I have recently made the connection with Devon from my husbands family who lived on the outskirts of London. I am gradually working my way back into the Devon line but in the process have accumulated a vast file on the Copp's and I am sure there must be something in there that is valuable to someone else. Give me all the clues you can and I will check. I have copies of the 1881 census and the 1851 is on its way. I live in Somerset, England and will shortly be paying a visit to Devon to do more on the spot research. You mention Copps in Cornwall there were few in the past and seem even fewer now. Most Copps come from a small area in South Devon and around the Torrington area in the North. I have also discovered an enclave of Copp's in the Warwickshire area but imagine that if we went back far enough there should be a connection. Though that is not always the case especially with the changing of spellings and transcription errors that have occurred throughout the generations.
Please contact me however small the details you have are.
Bye for now Judy.
P.S. If anyone else sees this and thinks I may be able to help in any way please feel free to e-mail me.
