Marvin Coppedge was the eleventh child of Clark C. Coppedge and Mary E. Martin. Marvin was born on 23 Feb 1871 and died on 14 June 1899. Their only known son was Virgil Marvin Coppedge, born about 1900. Since Marvin was not buried where he was born, in Ore City, Texas, he must have died elsewhere, but I do not know the location. I did not realize he was a professor, but I am not surprised since several teachers were in the family, including his father.Hope this helps. This information came from Joan Cobb's book "Bound for the Promised Land" in which she gives her principal source for C. C. Coppedge's children as Serena Lou Coppedge Torres, whose father was the half brother of Marvin. Please let me know if you find more about him.
