Dear John(That is an awful way to start a letter)
I am also a descendant of Issac & John J. My family is that of son Issac Wesley who stayed in Haywood Co TN with
several of the family while others when to TX. Our family
says that John J is buried in the Dancyville United Meth Cem in the community of Dancyville on Hwy 76 between Brown-sville & Somerville TN in Haywood Co TN. We are pretty sure that Isabella is not bur there - possibly in Dickson Co where they made a stop. The Coppedges had a land grant.
We are not sure if it was theirs by right of service in the
Wars or that they bought it from someone else. A cousin
Dorothy Moore & her family still own part of that land (she
also has John J's Bible). My uncle has a small part of the
land but it was sold then rebought so we can't claim con-
tinuous ownership. I know alot abt the Haywood Co con-
nections plus several years ago some of the TX Coppedges
got in touch with is. Last year at the Homecoming of the
Dancyville Church(possibly started by John J(a lay Meth
minister)we have 12 of the TX folks in attendance including
David Williamson( a Meth minister & descendant. Another decendant John L Daniel ( has done alot of research & published a
My line is JJ>Issac Wesley>Mary Ann Coppedge Jones>Annie
Coppedge Jones Rogers>Mary Sears Rogers Jones>Mary Tyrrell
Jones Bond(I go by Tyrrell).
Hope to hear from you soon,
