I have found an ancestor of mine, Thomas Coram (1598 – 1640) of Ottery Saint Mary, Devon. He married Dorothea Parsons. They had a son John Coram (b. 1629, Ottery Saint Mary). Have you found anything about this John Coram? Whom did he marry? Did he live in Ottery Saint Mary his whole life? When and where did he die?
The other side of my search is Captain Thomas Coram (1668 – 1751), born in Lyme Regis, Dorset. This is the famous person who established the Foundling Hospital in London. He is supposed to be related to the Corhams of Ottery Saint Mary. His father’s name was John Coram. Is this the same John Coram as the one born in Ottery Saint Mary in 1629?
