Hi Donald,

Greetings from Toronto, Canada.

William James (1787 - 1841) is a lateral of mine. I have some material on this family.

William James, son of Richard and Mary James, was born on April 15th., 1787, baptised May 20, 1787, in Dowlish Wake, Somerset. William 26 married Mary Coram 22 in Dowlish Wake, Somerset, on May 27th., 1813. Mary was born in Bishop’s Hull on June 1st., 1791. William and Mary lived in Allowenshay in Kingstone, Somerset, till about 1818. In 1819, William was described as a yeoman of Seavington After about 1820, they lived in Yarcombe, Devon. William died, aged 53, on January 7, 1841 (M. I. Kingstone). At the 1851 census for Ilminster, Mary 59, widow and annuitant, born in Bishop’s Hull, was living with daughters, Martha 35, Mary 29 and Susannah 20. Mary died, aged 62, on April 2, 1854 (M. I. Kingstone). William and Mary had issue.

If we are both talking about the same family, I would be happy to provide you with some material on their descendants. It is voluminous; perhaps, we had better continue, off list. My address is:

Best wishes.
