Further to the previous answer regarding Capt.Thomas Coram I also looked into his history and read a book about him but I`ve forgotten the name of it but it said that he was also an expert on the Colonies and seabourne trade.
His portrait was painted by Holgarth and I believe it still hangs in thr CORAM FOUNDATION Offices in London.
I am from the area of England where he was born
