I also descend from the Fauquier Co. Va. Coram's. I have been trying to sort the families out. I came across a copy of an old posting from June 1999 asking about James and Ann Coram. I have records that show James and Ann Coram were the parents of James Coram b. 1865 d.1882 and Winston Coram b.1861 d. 1882. Both sons died of consumption.
I descend from I believe to be two Coram sisters. They were Mahala Elizabeth Corum b. about 1826 and Susan F. Corum b. about 1830. I know Mahala's mother was Lucy Corum b. about 1809. Do they fit into your line at all or do you have any information on them? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also, do you know our history? I know that pre 1850 there were enslaved Corams and free Corams. I believe besides African-American, we also have Native-American ancestry. There were no major tribes in the Fauquier Co. Va. area but there were bands or clans from the Powhatan Empire.
