I only noted that you had entered additional details about your family after I had posted my previous message.
Your Corbett family appear in my records as having originated in Leicestershire as far back as the beginning of the 17th century.
I run the Corbett One Name Study Group and have had many people researching their Corbetts contact me asking if there is a contact between their family and Gentleman Jim - I do not believe he is connected with this Leicestershire family.
Incidentally I have your Robert of 1804 being born in Long Whatton and not Long Stanton. Can you tell me where the suggestion he was baptised in in Long Stanton came from?
