Hi Lyn
Just found this family in my own searches...
marriage of Edwin Cordy to Matilda Moseley.. I child of this marriage Joseph Samuel Cordy who m Laura Madeline Evans in 1894, child Nora Gertrude Madeline Cordy b 1895. In 1901 the family were still in England in Radnage.
Joseph Samuel Cordy was brought up by his aunt and uncle Thomas Moseley. Edwin Cordy does not appear in the 1871 1881 Census in the UK, so not known where her was. he reappears in census records in 1891 & 1901 in Frampton Cotterell Glos where he was born. In 1871 Matilda nee Moseley was living back at home with her mother. Edwin & Matilda were therefore living separately and it would seem the marriage was short-lived.. reason unknown. Edwin died in 1905 and left his estate to his sister Cecily Cordy.
Joseph Samuel Cordy ran a Corn Factor business in Bristol with his future father-in-law George Albert Evans until 1894
but by 1901 Joseph Samuel Cordy had moved to Radnege and was a Farm Bailiff.
Anything you can add much appreciated. I am related via a sister of Edwin Cordy's mother Eliza nee Rogers.
