This is not a name that I am researching but I can help you find the information you are looking for online. Nova Scotia Vital Stats are available online at
This is a free and searchable site maintained by the Provincial Archives. You can view the original record by downloading a viewer program that is free onsite. I did a quick check and there are lots of records (Births, Marriages and Death Certificates) there on the family you are researching. One thing to watch for though is that most of them are under the spelling of “Corey”. Another thing that I noticed is that a couple of the records that have been transcribed Corey should be Covey and vice versa. Keep this in mind when searching Census Records also. You will also find that the oldest records will refer to “Cornwallis Township”. This is the original name for the area of Kings County that now includes Kentville.
Canadian Census records that are available free are:
1901 & 1911
The 1871 Census is not available free on the internet that I’m aware of but is on the “paid” sites. Don’t know whether you are a subscriber so I did a quick check and found the following.
1871 Census of Kings County, NS; District #189, Division 02, subdist-Kentville
John Wallis – age 68, married, Baptist, born NS, farmer
Ester Wallis – age 66
Henry Cory – age 42, married, R. Catholic, born NS, farmer
Mary Cory – age 43
John J Cory – age 15
William H Cory- age 11
