Enos Ayres Corey, b. Ohio (1823), d. Virginia (Civil War)

I am trying to find information about Enos Ayres Corey, son of Aaron and Elizabeth (McGuire) Corey, husband of Eliza Ann Faught. Enos Ayres Corey and Eliza Ann Faught had six children, the last being born around 1853. In 1859, he pops up in Michigan marriage records as marrying Almira Hayes. In the 1860 Census, Eliza Corey still lives in Ohio, working as a seamstress. In 1864, Enos Corey enlists in the Michigan military during the Civil War and is killed in Petersburg, Virginia.

What I want to know and cannot seem to find records of is whether Enos Corey actually divorced Eliza Corey or if he just ran off to Michigan, abandoned his family, and disappeared.
