Hi-
My last name used to be Kare, but I'm not sure how many generations ago it was.I have a geneology book somewhere that says what my grandpa Kare's first name was, but it's in storage.I'll tell you who my relatives are, and maybe that'll help:My grandpa's name is Virgil Corey, and his sisters' names are Eloise and Eleanor.Their father's name was John Corey.Their mother's name was Maxie.I'm not sure exactly all the locations where they lived, but my grandpa lives in Wapello, Iowa, and I think his family's lived in Iowa for a long time now. Here's another bit of information that might help you determine if we're related or not:When our family lived in Sweden, our last name was Anderson (I'm not sure of the spelling).Because there were so many Anderson's, the king made many of them change their last names. That's when we became Kare. Then, in America, they changed it to Corey to sound more American.
Does any of this ring a bell?Maybe I could ask my grandpa for more info.
thanks!
Stephanie Corey
