The 1870 Census for Washington Township, Bremer Co., IA
(enumeration date June 29, 1870, shows:

George Corey, age 55, with an occupation as 'mason'. It is noted he was born in Canada and his father and mother were of "foreign birth".

Wife - Elizabeth, age 53, born in NY

Children are:
Almeda 17, female, born in IA
Bremer 14, male, born in IA
Catherine 12, femail, born in IA
Mylitta (?) 10, female, born in IA
Eva, 8, female, born in IA
Earl, 5, male, born in Iowa

Their neighbor was LeRoy COREY, age 23, occupation of farmer and born in NY. His wife was Hattie, age 18, and they had one child, James, age 1.

I suspect this George Corey could be my 3rd gr grandfather. Are these families familiar to anyone?
