Hello, Richard,

I have an ancestor, John Squire Corey, born in Shaftsbury VT, circa 1785. John Squire Corey is listed as dying in Chautauqua Co. NY in 1853. Maybe a brick, may be a wall. (I feel your pain.)

John S. Corey is the son of Benjamin Corey, Jr. born 19 Feb. 1752, who is the son of Benjamin Corey, born 4 December 1720, son of John of Roxbury, MA, who shows up in 1713 when he marries Abigail Abbe. (John and Abigail had 13 children, all born in Roxbury)

John Squire Corey had siblings as follows: Nathan, Hiram, Jonathan, Rufus, Truman, Sibyl, Damarais, Charlotte, and Nancy.

John Squire Corey had a son, Charles Corey, who married Janette Smith (now there's a wall for you) in Pen Yann, NY, sometime around 1820.

Their child, Warren Harris Corey, was born 8/11/1849 (?) at Westfield, NY.

Hope this helps.
