Benjamin COREY Dutchess Co NY and/or Danby VT
Posted by: Lynn Phifer (ID *****1895) Date: August 27, 2004 at 15:08:51

The following paragraph is from "Settlers of the Beekman Patent" by Frank Doherty. It is an excellent book as evidenced by this entry. My Mary COREY married Peter IRISH in Dutchess county and they went to Danby Vermont, so this is pregnant with potential for me. Peter was removed for "Marrying out" so I am searching for Coreys who were not Quakers. This at least shows the Coreys and Irishes were neighbors.

BENJAMIN CORY leased a frarm in lot 9, 23 Nov. 1761. This farm was 135 1/4 acres that was larer Caleb Sheldon and Samuel Cutler. He may have been the Benjamin born 1723 son of Benjamin and Sarah of Stamford CT. A Benjamin Cory was an early settler of Danby VT (See History of Danby , p 13) This Benjamin was prob. The one noted as a boundary 3 April 1765 in lot 31 of the Nine Partners Patent when Cyrus Alger sold to Samuel King in Amenia (D 4"383)

I would appreciate any help
