Stephen, My post at http://genforum.genealogy.com/corey/messages/788.html mentions speculation that my family's tree might list a wrong first name for our earliest known Corey ancestor (who we currently have as John Corey b. 1800, but who could potentially be Benjamin F.). Your Stephen Corey would fit neatly in a gap between my 2nd Great grandfather George S. Corey b. 11/11/1844 and Hannah Corey b. 1848, if Stephen falsified his age for military reasons. In another coincidence, our known family of 7 includes a sibling John Corey, b. 1838, for whom we have no descendants or date of death. (It is also possible our John Corey [the father] could be a brother to Benjamin Franklin Corey.) We have vainly tried to locate the earlier family residency of George S. Corey, who is reported to have come to Wayne Co., PA from New York State. Thus mention of Vermont also catches my attention. Run a search on my name for a couple of other postings that enumerate our known Corey family to see if we can make a connection. Best regards, Lou
