Some time back you kindly posted me some information on your family tree I can now say that we have a possible link. My husband's 3g grandfather was William Cormack married to Elizabeth Cantlay. They had 2 sons- George a merchant seaman on the whaling boat ss Active from Peterhead and James Hay Cormack b1823 Aberdeen (my husband's 2g grandfather m to Jane Grieve) who moved to Glasgow about 1860 and started up a heating and ventilating business. I think they could be descended from your James Cormack b 1764.If you think this sounds plausable I can send you more information.
