I had a great uncle who emigrated to New Zealand after WW2. He had been captured whilst fighting in the rearguard action at Dunkirk in 1940 and spent the rest of the war as a POW. When he returned to England he found it hard to settle and so decided to make a new start.Orignally my great Grandfather came from Buckie which is on the east coast of Scotland. My understanding is that Cormack is Scottish and McCormack is Irish but I stand ready to be corrected.
