Pat, Thank you for the distant hug!(You never get enough of them).

Glad I was able to give you a lead in your search. I saw your other posts and was able to gather additional information for my tree as well.

It seems that all Acadian/Canadian Cormier's are related if you go back far enough. Agnes and I are distant cousins.

If the records are correct, the Cormier line starts at;
Abraham Cormier, b. 1585 France
Robert " , b. 1610 France(1st Cormier in No America)
Thomas " , b. 1636 France
Francois " , b. 1670 Acadia, Nova Scotia
(Here is where we split with Agnes). I am a descendant of his brother, Pierre.
Pierre " , b. 1695 Acadia, N.S. (Son of Francois)
Jean " , b. 1735 Acadia, N.S.
Charles " , b. 1787 Acadia, N.S.
Livain " , b. 1829 Acadia, N.S.
Clovis " , b. 1854 Acadia, N.S.
Agnes Teresa , b. 1888 Massachusetts, USA (Your GM)

I was born in Lynn, Mass. and live in San Jose, Calif.
What part of the planet are you from?

If you have access to Ancestry.com I can add you as a contributor to my tree. I have over 18,000 names in my records as of now. Send your e-mail address, to Lcormie@aol.com I will invite you to my tree.

Regards,
Larry Cormier
