Corson/Colson surname DNA project
The Corson/Colson Family History Association has organized
a Y-chromosome DNA project with the following goals:
* To supplement standard genealogical research of the
Corson surname and similar variants (e.g., Colson, Courson,
Coursen, Corsen, Vroom).
* To determine relatedness among descendants of known U.S.
Corson/Colson progenitors, as well as relatedness, if any,
among the progenitors themselves.
* To help Corsons/Colsons who are unsure of their ancestry
determine to which family line they may belong.
* To ascertain eventually, and as specifically as possible,
the geocultural origins of Corson/Colson progenitors.
Males with the surname Corson/Colson (or its variants) are
welcome to participate by having their DNA tested.Female
Corsons/Colsons, or males descended from them, can
participate by identifying direct-line male relatives with
the Corson/Colson surname for testing.
