Hi Linda!
Yes, Corston is an Orkney name, but seems to have died out in the modern Orkneys. Of those who did spread out worldwide, some came over (as did many Orcadians in the era) to work for the Hudson's Bay Company in northern Canada, and there are Metis descendants of these Corstons in northern Ontario. Some went to New Zealand. My great grandfather (James Corston)came over to Nova Scotia, Canada in the 1870's I believe, and some of his descendants live in NS still today.
