Our research has shown that Kate Pinfold may have been born Kathleen Cosford before she was adopted. Her birth certificate which we now have shows that her parents were Arthur Henry Cosford and Annie Elizabeth Cosford formaly Blackwell, also that she was born on the 22nd March 1878. They had lived at 12 bearward street, Northampton. The reasons for her being adopted we are still unsure about but in time we may discover. In the 1881 census Kathleen is mispelt and is Carhlaen; she is seen to have an older sister called Anne M Cosford. Kathleen's mother name is also wrong it should have been Annie and not Anne It is possible that the same error could have been made for her sister.
If you have any information that could link up to Kathleen or her family we would be most grateful.
