Hello- My name is Marti. I am a granddaughter of Eva Coshow Doyle. I attended a great Coshow family reunion in Brownsville, Ore. 3 summers ago. Apparently this is a reoccuring reunion. Oliver Perrin Coshow (O.P.) is from thistown. There are several historical homes there built by him. I have paperwork somewhere in my basement but off the top of my head. I remember at the gathering meetings involving our geneology (we were all descendants of Benoni). Benoni is actually originally from Italy, not France. He was a prisoner of war caught by the French. So technically he did immigrate to the states from France, but was originally from Italy. Iheard (would like this part verified) he followed LaFayette to the states and was his interpreter.
There were Coshow's at the reunion that have been researching for decades on the Benoni line.
I was wondering if anyone had info on an L.C. Coshow. L.C. was documented by the U.S. Gov. cencus as living on the Nez Perce reservation (I cant remember the date...1800's?)
Thanks, Marti
