I believe you folks are all on the right track. James Cosman, Jr. b. 6/14/1791 was son of James Cosman b. 1755-58 Newburgh, Ulster Co., NY fled to Sissiboo, Digby Co., NS c.1784 after being arrested as a Tory in Ulster Co., NY, USA. About 1785 he married Catherine John b.c.1765 and had 9 children. James Sr.'s parents were Johannes Cosman b.1720 Newburgh, Ulster Co., NY and Barbara b.c.1723 Newburgh, Ulster, NY. They had 10 children. You can see full details of this family and many ancestors and descendants on my posting to this forum yesterday. Or contact me for more info.
