In about 1784, John and James Cosman, sons of Johannes Kausman, emigrated to Digby, Nova Scotia, and received landgrants from the British Crown for 700 and 500 acres respectively. Their father emigrated from southern Germany and changed his name when he received British citizenship in 1751. John died in 1832, childless, so the link to my family is through James.
