Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

In about 1784, John and James Cosman, sons of Johannes Kausman, emigrated to Digby, Nova Scotia, and received landgrants from the British Crown for 700 and 500 acres respectively. Their father emigrated from southern Germany and changed his name when he received British citizenship in 1751. John died in 1832, childless, so the link to my family is through James. You might want to look at the "Mabou Cosman" family page on this website for more info.
