Connection between Henryck Gasper/Cosper line and Georg Ernst Kasper??
Hi Guys,
About 25 years ago, my dad (George Henry Kasper, yes, they did like those names :) ) got a call from a Mr. Reuben Moore from NW Atlanta.Mr Moore shared much of the information that I see on this forum, but my father was not very interested in genealogy at the time.Since my father's death, I have been searching mostly in the Kasper/Casper circles, until this lucky day!!!
I have 4 questions to throw out to you all:
1. I have only been able to document my line to Georg Ernst Kasper and his wife Helen(e) Bartow who both are documented to have arrived in 1883 (with children) and went straight to St. Louis and then many of their children to central Florida area in around 1920s.We know they were in the nursery/gardening business.
Does anyone know where Georg Ernst and Helen were from or who their parents were?
2. My family has always talked about the story that King (Georg or Wilhelm?) gave a Georg Heinrick Kasper a walking stick (cane) to honor him with the title of "Keeper of the Black Forest" (?)
3. There was also apparently some land (Castles or Textile Mills?) that were in the family in Alsace Loraine region (now in France).
4. There was supposedly an article written about a Kasper family reunion in St. Louis in 1904 that was published either in St. Louis or New Orleans.Does anyone know about or have that article?
Sorry for so many questions, but this is the first post that knew anything about the SC land and Henryk in 1764 part of my family stories...
Many thanks for any insights!!!
Cheryl
